MY family digital story

My digital Story is about the two most important people to me my mom and sister. It was probably the most sincere peace of art work that I have did yet. I am grateful for the family I do have and just wanted to show that the best way I could so that my mom and sister could see it. An so my kids and their kids, kids could see how important family really is.

The assignment was to create a digital story about something using photos. It could be about art family and What we need to do this was of course bring photos of some sort or objects that could be scanned to tell your digital story. Rules where we need to record our story to tell your story, and adding effects and transitions.

 

My story is about my mom and my sister. I describe how when I was little I didn’t have a father. How my mom had always been there for me. My digital story pictures I used were ones with me my mom, my sister and me, and all of us to gather. The reason I picked these is because it’s who I’m talking bout in my digital story. My whole story is based on the people in my life, my mom, sister and me.

 

I chose this story because I want something to look back on in life.  Like my mom and sister are the most important people in my life. With out them I don’t know where I would be. Like the things I do it do it for them, that’s academically and otherwise. This let me show how close I actually am to my family. I think it was probably the close thing I could share with people.

 

I would say I did very well on it probably a 4 or 3 on a rubric. I also love y digital story because it touches me, and think it will also touch others as well. It was easy but difficult at the same time, I say this because I did this 9^th grade but it was different this time around. It was hard because I put the pictures but didn’t to the voice to after, which made it hard to connect it. This year I have so much new things I think I have grown so much in skill. I think I will defiantly us imovie in the future to make movies for my kids and photoshop as well to make collages.

Wilkenson Clear M-3 Photographic Truth Reflection 12/20/09

The assignment for this project was to make and accordion book. Then pick a theme, and alter the picture by add your self show you where there at that moment of time. The rules where that you had to be in the picture and it had to have a theme that you could show through six different pictures. The hope expectations wet met in this assignment was

My accordion book is simple the them is old television shows. The images I choose where some of the episodes from Good Time, Different Strokes and Fresh Prince of Bel-air. Others where just crew shots with the full actors of the TV shows such as Family Matters and Martin I just simply analyzed the pictures and pots I could fit in and how I should pose., and placed my self in the exact spots. Some tools I used where the basic tools from previous project. The magnetic lass, eraser opacity filters, something new I used was the stamp tool which lets you copy something from a part on the picture.

As I mentioned before I picked the old television show theme. I picked it because those our shows that I watch to this day and used to watch when I was little. It not jus television shows it the fact that I would watch them with my mom and my sister in my moms bed cuddle up as a family. I always wanted to be in the shows also so this was my chance to actually do that.

In this project the only new thing I learned was the stamp tools and a couple of new filters. I new a lot do to prior knowledge and experience with photo shop. I liked to use it because it different and can really make you fit in with the picture. It was difficult to me to used these tools and because it was able to help classmates use them. I think all and all I was successful with this project just because I made my self fit in well. If I was to do it over I’d probably make sure I pose a little better to make it a little bit more realer, but for now I like it.

    Wilkenson Clear       Lyrical Triptych Reflection      M-3           11/4/09

 

 

This assignment was called the Lyrical triptych; which is three five by seven panels.  The rules of this project where to pick a song that we like or means something to us. We also had to find images we though could describe a part of the song lyrics we liked. After that we had to find a way to incorporate the lyrics and the images on the three panels. Not only that but also had to apply the photo shop skills learned such as filters, and lowering the opacity of some images and making some things stand out or fade out.

 

    My triptych was three different panels, with the same concept in a weird kind of way. The song I chose was dear Mr. President by the artist known as pink.  On one of my panels shows money with a babe in it talking about minimum wage with a babe on the way. The second one is about soldiers and walking by a house that was just bombed and a the third was a homeless and near a city. I used a couple of opacity tricks, erasing tools magnetic lasso and a filter as well as blending tools.  

 

   The way I created images to reflect my lyrics was to pick the things I thought where closes to what I was trying to say but not exactly the example of the lyric. The way I captured the mood on my first one was by putting the babe on in the dollar bill. This symbolized the part of my lyrics where it say’s minimum wage with a babe on the way.  And the lyrics pop out with a drop shadow to show the point of the lyrics.

 

    My experience was very helpful because I already work on it at home but I learned a bunch of new skills to use. I actually love it because it different and I can actually bring my ideas to life realistically. I think it’s a successful in the creation because I feel that I really got my message of the lyrics through to my audience. If I was to do this again I’d probably do nothing different I like the ideas and concepts I picked.

I was just having a lot of fun with this because it was the first assignment we did and I got to play around in Photoshop, which was something I used to do on my free time at home. I think everything on my book is a interest in having something or something I have already.
